According to the company’s operational financial data, turnover of the full service car rental provider SIXT Leasing (SIA Transporent) has grown in the year of 2020 by 1.06 million euros or 6%, reaching 17.77 million euros. Restrictions aimed at the suppression of the Covid-19 pandemic have forced companies to switch to delivery services and individual mobility, thus significantly increasing demand for the services provided by SIXT. In 2020, the company has registered 633 new vehicles for its short-term and long-term rental customers, and this number accounts for 4% of the total number of new cars registered in Latvia in 2020 (according to the information provided by the “Latvian Authorised Automobile Dealers Association”, the total number of registered new cars last year was 15,642).
The economic situation in Latvia and across the globe directly affects the choices of entrepreneurs and the adopted decisions – small and medium businesses prudently look to the future, trying to find ways of operating while saving current assets. Car rental is a way for companies to deal with their mobility needs, including matters related to vehicle financing and car fleet maintenance. November 24, 2015. Sixt rent a car in collaboration with a non-governmental organization Apeirons is offering to rent cars equipped with hand control. Creating such a service for people with disabilities will make traveling in Latvia and the Baltic countries more accessible. Sixt provides hand control installation free of charge.
Sixt is the first international car rental company in the Baltics, which offers services for people with disabilities. The service is available for persons with reduced mobility, who are able to drive using hand control and have a valid driver's license. Before rental, the car is equipped with special hand control system, which is an easy to install and easy to use device for any car with automatic transmission. Hand control system allows the driver to drive the car only with the help of hands, controlling gas and brake. July 15, 2015. Customer acquisition and development of new services ensured business growth in Latvia and the Baltic States for Sixt in 2014, which made it the leading car rental service provider. Sixt Latvia turnover in 2014 amounted to 10.2 million euro, which is 25% more than in 2013. And Sixt consolidated turnover in the Baltics is now 12.5 million euro, representing 29% growth. The consolidated profit of the group of companies is 402 thousand euro.
